Sharon Martin is the Managing Director of Public Affairs for State Federal Strategies and has more than 20 years of communications, media and public affairs experience. Martin previously served as the Deputy Secretary for Public Affairs for the State of North Carolina’s Department of Environmental Quality, leading strategic messaging on complex environmental and energy issues.
During her time with the Department, she worked on policy, messaging and communications on complex issues including the state’s historic coal ash cleanup, addressing forever chemicals in drinking water and the handling of billions of federal dollars in infrastructure funding in North Carolina.
Prior to her time in public service, Martin honed her messaging and content skills as a journalist in local and national news at CNN and as executive producer of several documentary television series.
A graduate of the University of Alabama, Martin and her family call Raleigh, North Carolina home.
